FAQ
Questions we hear from South African companies
What we can handle, when you'll need a separate professional adviser, and how to start with a small assignment.

Do I need to have a US company before using your services?
No. Many companies start with research, event coverage, meeting support, or verification before deciding whether a US company is needed.
Can you act as our US representative?
Yes, within a written business-support scope. That can include communication, meeting attendance, follow-up, and coordination. It is not a registered office or statutory agent service unless that is arranged separately with the right provider.
Can you attend a trade show on our behalf?
Yes. We can attend a US event, visit the booths on your list, collect public information, speak with relevant contacts, and send a concise post-event report.
Can you attend customer meetings for us?
Yes. We can attend customer, supplier, distributor, or partner meetings with a written brief, then provide notes and follow-up recommendations.
Can you help us find US customers?
We can help identify likely customer segments, companies, channels, and outreach targets. We do not promise sales or customer commitments.
Can you verify a potential US customer or supplier?
Yes. We can review available information, confirm contact details where possible, and provide written findings. Verification is limited by available information and is not a legal, financial, credit, or investigative guarantee.
Can you help us form a US company?
We can arrange introductions and keep the setup steps moving with formation providers, attorneys, accountants, registered-agent services, and related vendors. The professional advice comes from those providers.
Do you provide legal or tax advice?
No. Byrd USA Market Services does not provide legal, tax, accounting, investment, customs, or financial advice. Where those services are needed, we help coordinate with appropriately qualified providers.
Do you provide sales services?
We can support defined business-development activity, introductions, follow-up, and account communication. We do not guarantee sales, and we do not make pricing, contract, warranty, or delivery commitments unless that authority is expressly agreed in writing.
Can you work outside North Carolina?
Yes. The business is based in North Carolina and can handle work elsewhere in the United States through remote coordination or travel when the assignment warrants it.
How do your fees work?
Services can be scoped as a single project, a day-rate assignment, or ongoing monthly support. Fees depend on the work, travel, timing, and reporting required.
Do we need a long-term contract?
Not necessarily. Some companies begin with a small project, market research assignment, verification request, or single event before deciding whether ongoing support makes sense.
Can we start with one small project?
Yes. A small, well-scoped project is often the best way to test both the US opportunity and the working relationship.
Planning a move into the US market?
Let's talk about what needs to happen on the ground.
Start with one project, a day-rate assignment, or ongoing monthly support.
